1:30 PM - 5 PM : Life Experience x4
Terry Taylor, Steve Hindalong, Derri Daugherty and Michael Roe will jointly discuss their creative process and how they develop, write and produce songs, working from examples across their careers, offering unique insights to those who have grown with their music and practical tools for songwriters and musicians (from beginner to professional). More details and a topical outline are here. Registrants will receive additional information and materials in advance. A Q&A will follow the discussion. Open to all experience levels (and those who are yet to write their first songs).

Sunday July 29, 2012 :
11 AM - 12 Noon : Children's Music Workshop : Fun With Sound : The Lost Dogs will present a one-hour children’s workshop to provide an introduction to the fun of making music. The band members will share their passion for music in a low key, fun, group setting. The intention will be to send children home with a new appreciation of the art of music making, perhaps with a new skill, and encouraging expression and collaboration. Bring along instruments (including guitars and small percussion) if you have them. All levels of experience welcome.
1 PM - 2 PM : Two Hands = Twenty Fingers : Guitar Master Class. Michael Roe will discuss his style and approach to playing and provide techniques for guitarists. Musicians bring your guitars (we may have a few extra ones here for travelers who aren’t able to bring them). Open to all experience levels (and to observers).
2:15 PM – 3:15 PM : The Bing Bang Theory : Percussion Master Class. Steve Hindalong will pull percussion tricks of the trade out of his hat, demonstrating how he utilizes a multitude of percussion instruments to accent and enliven studio albums and live performance. Open to all experience levels (and to observers).
3:30 PM - : Dinner On The Ground (Event Sponsor's Garden Party) : Fellowship and fun around a barbeque with the band. A unique opportunity for the band and friends to relax and graze. Full supper included. Limited to participants who help sponsor this weekend of events by reserving a package.

TRAVELERS :
The best pricing for hotels is in Gaithersburg, MD (use that well-known discount service, but avoid the lowest rated hotel). The closest hotels are in Germantown, MD but it's only a few miles further to Gaithersburg.
For those who didn't have too much of camping already at Cornerstone or elsewhere a very inexpensive, nice, well shaded camping option is available only a little bit further than around the corner from us at : Little Bennett Regional Park (make reservations there - info on their site).
Air travellers : Baltimore-Washington International is usually considerably less expensive than the other airports in the region. If you have an EZ Pass for the toll road it is actually just as close and usually quicker to get here from there than from the other airports if driving. We are not located too near public transit, though some of the airports and hotels are well served. |
